Social Work Interns and Mentors meet with clients individually to discuss assistance or referrals to other resources. Food Pantry & Clothing Closet: CHRC offers a “choice” food pantry. Clients can choose from a variety of bread, meat, produce, and canned or boxed items. Clients can also shop in our free clothing closet and can select clothing items for their family. Services from our pantry and closet are given once every 30 days. iParent SA Program provided by The Children’s Shelter: IParent SA works with all parents in Bexar County needing parenting support and resources. Parents will work with a highly trained Parent Educator who will help them identify strengths, develop goals and build self-sufficiency.

Baptist Child & Family Services: This 9 week parenting program is geared for parents of children ages 0-17 years old. Meets CPS requirements for Parenting courses Please call for new class schedule and to register: 210-678-2008. Child care provided.
Nurturing Parenting Classes: A 10 week program designed for fathers and mothers facing emotional, social, financial, and interpersonal barriers to participate in their child’s life. Class targets all families at risk for abuse and neglect with children Birth to 18 years of age. Program is provided by Methodist Healthcare Ministries. English 101 Class: Classes are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1:00 pm in Room 103 A. Classes are available to individuals at all levels who would like to improve their English language skills in reading, listening and speaking. Venga aprender Inges.
Kids Club: Saturday at 10 am – 11 in Portable 103 A. Youth ages 6-12 years will learn how to develop a positive self-esteem, challenge their minds, and build strong and healthy relationships with others.

Financial Peace University (FPU) is a 1.5 hour class that teaches you God’s ways of handling money. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, you will learn how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more!
